Jarrod Dyson Joins Northwest Arkansas Naturals

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com -The Kansas City Royals announced today that outfielder Jarrod Dyson has been transferred onto the roster of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. Dyson will join the Naturals in Tulsa and make his home debut this weekend at Arvest Ballpark against the Arkansas Travelers.
A 24-year old resident of McComb, MS, Dyson will see his first action at the Double-A level after appearing in 17 games for Class-A Burlington (IA), the Royals’ affiliate in the Midwest League. With the Bees, he hit .343 with five RBI, and was 9-for-13 in stolen base attempts.

The Royals’ 50th round selection in the 2006 draft from Southwest Mississippi Junior College, Dyson is known primarily for his speed and is considered one of the faster runners in the Kansas City Royals’ organization. In 171 career minor league games over portions of four seasons, he owns a .275 average with 48 RBI and 70 stolen bases in 553 career at-bats.
He spent most of the 2008 season with the Class-A Advanced Wilmington Blue Rocks, and posted a .260 average in 93 games and was second on the team with 39 stolen bases.
Dyson will be active beginning with tonight’s game and will wear uniform #12. His addition brings the Naturals’ roster to the Texas League roster limit of 24.
