Indoor Football League (IFL) Names Dixie Wooten as Offensive Player of the Week

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com-The Indoor Football League (IFL) announced on Wednesday that Wild quarterback Dixie Wooten has been named IFL Offensive Player of the Week for Week 16. Wooten set a new franchise record with seven touchdown passes in Wichita's 73-33 victory over RiverCity. The win clinched the first ever playoff spot for the Wild.

A change of scenery may have been just what the doctor ordered. Wooten, who was a Player of the Year candidate as a member of RiverCity earlier this year, was released by the Rage and immediately picked up by Wichita. In his first game wearing the orange and black he led the Wild to their best offensive performance of the year and gave the franchise its first ever playoff game. The Wild quarterback ran the ball four times for 28 yards and was 14-20 for 171 yards and seven touchdowns. Wichita was also 7 for 7 in their redzone opportunities.
