Can-Am League to Operate Ottawa Rapids Franchise For 2009

OTTAWA - Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball (the Can-Am League) Commissioner, Miles Wolff will be holding a press conference in Ottawa at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at Ottawa Stadium.

It is expected that Mr. Wolff will announce that the Can-Am League will operate the Ottawa Rapids for the 2009 baseball season while they continue to seek new ownership for the team.

The League and the City are looking at extending the lease for Ottawa Stadium which is set to expire at the end of 2009. Ottawa City Councillor, Bob Monette will also be present at the press conference.
