The Worcester Tornadoes rolled out to a 6-0 lead after three innings and would cruise from there to defeat the New Jersey Jackals. LF Francisco Caraballo was the offensive star for the Tornadoes going 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run and three RBI. Worcester starter Junior Guerrero notched his seventh win of the year going 7 1/3 innings allowing four earned runs on four hits with three walks and four strikeouts. Tornadoes reliever Eddie Pena hurled a perfect ninth inning to collect his eighth save of the season.

Nashua 4, Ottawa 3

A solid pitching performance by Nashua starter Hideki Nagasaka leads the Pride to victory over the Ottawa Rapidz. Nagasaka on the night went six innings allowing two earned runs on six hits with two walks and four strikeouts. He is now 8-5 on the year. C Mike Torres and DH Ismael Castro went a combined 4-for-7 at the plate for the Pride with two runs scored and a run batted in. C Kyle Geiger and 1B Jake Daubert each had two hits and scored a run for the Rapidz in the losing effort.

Brockton 17, Atlantic City 2

It was all Brockton in this one as the Rox plated 17 runs and pounded out 19 hits en route to an easy win over Atlantic City. Every batter in the Brockton lineup recorded at least one hit with five having multi-hit games. Rox 2B Melvin Falu went 4-for-6 on the night with two runs scored and three RBI while C Lee Rubin had three hits in four at-bats along with scoring three runs scored and driving in three. Brockton starter Wayne Lundgren collected his ninth win of the season with a seven inning performance allowing two earned runs on seven hits with four strikeouts.

The Sussex Skyhawks keep rolling along as the Skyhawks beat the Quebec Capitales and win their fifth straight game. In the process, Sussex moves into first place in the second half standings. CF Ryan Crespi and LF Alex Frazier each went 2-for-4 at the plate with a RBI for the Skyhawks. Sussex starter Kyle Ruwe got the win pitching 6 2/3 innings giving up one earned run on six hits with four strikeouts. Ruwe is now 11-5 on the season. Skyhawks closer Matt Petrusek gave up an unearned run in the ninth inning but held on to collect his 20th save of the season.
