Quebec Capitales DH Pierre Luc-LaForest, New Jersey Jackals LHP Isaac Pavlik Honored by Can-Am League

DURHAM, NC – The official statistician of the Can-Am League, PA-Sportsticker, has selected Quebec Capitales DH Pierre-Luc LaForest and New Jersey Jackals LHP Isaac Pavlik as the Teamline Direct Players of the Week.

LaForest batted .364 with two home runs, two RBI and four runs scored. The Montebello, QC resident collected four hits and two stolen bases, while slugging .909 with an on-base percentage of .462. La Forest in the 3-1 victory over the Worcester Tornadoes on Thursday went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and a run batted in.

The 31-year-old was selected by the Montreal Expos in the 16th round of the 1995 draft. LaForest played nine seasons in the Tampa Bay Rays organization where he reached the majors in 2003 and 2005. He also played in the big leagues with the San Diego Padres and Philadelphia Phillies.

Pavlik threw six shutout innings in the 10-0 win over the American Defenders of New Hampshire Friday night. The Remsey, NJ resident allowed only three hits while fanning five batters in notching his first win of the season.

The 29-year-old is currently in his fifth season with New Jersey. Last season, Pavlik went 8-7 with a 3.65 ERA in 135 2/3 innings pitched.  He was a 10th round selection of the Colorado Rockies in the 2002 MLB draft.

Teamline Direct was designed by TRZ Sports to provide quick and affordable access, for out-of-market and on-the-go sports fans, to their favorite team’s games. It fills the gap between radio broadcasts and internet streaming and takes advantage of the free cell phone minutes that most fans have available on nights and weekends. The cost to listen is $5.00 per game. Visit www.teamline.cc to connect to your team.
