Sioux Falls Canaries Closer Kris Regas Earn Pitcher of the Month Honors - American Association

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com-Sioux Falls, SD – Sioux Falls Canaries Closer Kris Regas has been named the American Association Pitcher of the Month for the month of June by PA-Sportsticker, the league’s official statistician. In a month where the Canaries went 14-13, Regas was 1-0 with 11 saves and a 0.60 ERA.

“Kris is a big part of the reason we were over .500 in the month of June,” said Canaries Manager Steve Shirley.“He is an incredible talent, and is even more reliable than you can realistically ask a relief pitcher to be.”

In two years as the Canaries closer, Regas has converted 44 of 46 save attempts, while the Canaries are 46-0 in games where Regas has come on to close. In June, Regas struck out 19 batters, walking just five, and held opponents to a .087 batting average over 15.0 innings of work.
