New Hampshire Fisher Cats Lose 6-4 to Reading Phillies - AA, Eastern League

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com –

Reading, PA -- Mike Eylward delivered a key late hit, J.D. Durbin and two relievers combined to shut down New Hampshire the last eight innings, and the Phillies came from behind for a 6-4 victory Friday night before 8,091.

With the bases loaded in the seventh, Eylward deposited a two-out single to right to score two runs and break a 4-4 tie.

The Fisher Cats jumped on Durbin for four runs right out of the chute.  Eric Nielsen started the scoring with a solo home run.  Durbin forced across a second run with his third walk of the inning and Jacob Butler added a two-run double.

After that, Durbin, Travis Minix (2-3) and Justin Pope (sixth save) shut down the Fisher Cats on four hits.

The Phillies (44-61) squandered several chances to catch up the first five innings.  They left the bases loaded without scoring in the first inning, got just one run in the third after loading the bases with one out, and got nothing in the fifth despite putting their first two runners on.

They finally broke through in the sixth.  Following a run-scoring wild pitch, Brad Harman bounced a two-out, two-run double down the line in left that forged a 4-4 tie.

Greg Golson had three of the 11 hits for the Phillies, who won their third straight.  Nielsen had three hits for the Cats (42-63).  Overbey (2-2) got the loss.
