BLAKE CAN RAKE: INF Blake DeWitt is 6-for-14 (.429) with a double, a triple, two homers, and seven RBI in three games since being optioned to Las Vegas on Saturday...the 22-year-old was selected by the Dodgers in the first round (28th overall) of the 2004 draft.

MAZA, MAZA MAN: INF Luis Maza is 8-for-19 (.421) with eight runs scored in five games since being designated for assignment on July 20.

A.J. GETS AN “A”: C A.J. Ellis has hit safely in nine straight games, batting .419 to raise his average to .309 from .289…the 27-year-old is hitting .393 (22-for-56) with 14 RBI in 16 games.

THE X FACTOR: OF Xavier Paul had an 11-game hitting streak until going 0-for-4 on Tuesday vs. Iowa (Cubs)…the Dodgers’ fourth-round pick of the 2003 draft batted .370 (17-for-46) during the tear…the 23-year-old is batting .305 with 21 doubles and 54 RBI in 87 games overall.

CLIMBING THE TOTTEN POLE: RHP Heath Totten is 3-0 with a 3.00 ERA (6 ER/18.0 IP) in his last three starts…the 29-year-old signed with Los Angeles as a minor league free agent on June 23…he is 5-2 with a 4.10 ERA in seven starts overall.

Double-A Jacksonville Suns

Second Half: 15-24, 5th Place, 11.0 Games Back

First Half: 33-37, 3rd Place, 7.0 Games Back

TOMLIN BOY: OF James Tomlin is batting .545 (18-for-33) with six RBI in his last 13 games, raising his average to .292 from .273…the 25-year-old Los Angeles native is hitting .333 (29-for-87) in 25 games in July…Tomlin has 26 doubles, and 31 RBI in 96 games overall…he was signed by the Dodgers as a minor league free agent in October 2007.

GREAT SCOTT!! : LHP Scott Elbert is 1-1 with a 2.70 ERA in 16 games (one start) since joining Jacksonville in June…the 22-year-old missed nearly the entire 2007 season began the 2008 campaign late after recovering from a left shoulder injury…the Dodgers’ first-round pick (17th overall) in 2004 has a 2.45 ERA (4 ER/14.2 IP) in eight games (one start) in July.

DANNY BOY : RHP Danny Muegge had tossed 20.0 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run until giving one up in the third inning of his Monday start at Carolina (Marlins)…nonetheless, the 27-year-old has a 0.41 ERA (1 ER/22.0 IP) in his last eight games…he is 0-3 with one save and a 3.57 ERA in 17 games (three starts) overall…Muegge came to the Dodgers as part of the Shawn Green deal in January 2005.

YOU HOLD THE LOCKE AND I’LL TURN THE KEY : 1B Andrew Locke is batting .377 (29-for-77) with five homers and 19 RBI in his last 17 games beginning July 11, raising his average to .318 from .300…the Boston College product, who was selected by Los Angeles in the 19th round of the 2005 draft, is leading current 66ers in hitting…the 25-year-old also has a team-best 60 RBI.

SARTOR TO SEE YOU GO : RHP Matt Sartor is 0-2 with a save and a 2.19 ERA in eight appearances since being promoted from Single-A Great Lakes on July 11…the 23-year-old has struck out 13 in 12.1 innings…Sartor went 4-2 with four saves and a 3.83 ERA in 25 games with Great Lakes…he was signed by the Dodgers as a non-drafted free agent in July 2007.

LOOK WHAT THE LINDBLOM IN : RHP Josh Lindblom has no record and a 3.86 ERA in his first three professional starts…he has struck out seven and walked two in his 7.0 innings of work…the 21-year-old was the Dodgers’ second-round pick in this year’s draft out of Purdue University.

RUSSELL’S ATHLETIC : OF Kyle Russell , the Dodgers’ third-round pick in the 2008 draft, is 9-for-21 (.429) with a homer and 10 RBI in his last five games…the 22-year-old is hitting .323 with a team-leading seven home runs…he also is tied for the club lead with 31 RBI.

BETTER VETTERS : OF Travis Vetters is hitting .387 with six doubles, three homers, and 10 RBI in nine games since being reassigned from Single-A Great Lakes…the 24-year-old was signed by the Dodgers as a non-drafted free agent in June 2006.

WATT DID YOU SAY? : LHP Michael Watt has won each of his last four starts, posting a 1.23 ERA (3 ER/22.0 IP) in that span…the 19-year-old, who was selected by the Dodgers in the second round of the 2006 draft, is 4-2 with a 2.91 ERA in eight starts…he has 39 strikeouts in 34.0 innings of work.

YOU GEISON HANGING OUT? : LHP Geison Aguasviva is 2-0 with a 0.90 ERA (2 ER/20.0 IP) in his last three starts after being touched for eight runs in 1.0 inning on July 13 vs. Great Falls (White Sox)…the 20-year-old is 2-2 with a 3.40 ERA in nine starts overall…he started the year with Single-A Great Lakes, where he went 1-2 with an 8.38 ERA in eight games (two starts).

FELICIANO NAVIDAD : LHP Roberto Feliciano has tossed 9.2 consecutive scoreless innings (six games) without allowing an earned run…the 17-year-old is 1-0 with a save and a 0.82 ERA in seven games overall…he has 15 RBI in his 11.0 innings of work…Feliciano was signed by the Dodgers as a non-drafted free agent on June 13.

RIGHT SAID FREDY : RHP Fredy Quintero has allowed only one earned run in his last 14.2 innings (six games) since giving up three earned run in 1.2 innings in his first outing June 21 vs. the GCL Nationals…the 20-year-old is 3-0 with two saves and a 2.20 ERA in seven games overall…he was signed as a non-drafted free agent in January.
