Columbus Clippers Rally in Seventh to Defeat the Richmond Braves

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – Columbus, OH – The Columbus Clippers beat the Richmond Braves 8-5 Tuesday at Cooper Stadium.  The Clippers erupted for six runs in the seventh inning to end a five game Richmond road winning streak.

 
The Braves took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Chuck James knocked n a run with a single.  The Clippers tied the game in the home half with a home run by David Wallace.  The Braves moved back in front in the fourth thanks to a solo home run by Corky Miller.  The Braves stretched their lead to 4-1 in the fifth on a two-run single by Enrique Cruz.  The Clippers answered with a run in the bottom half on an RBI double by Frank Diaz.  The Clippers moved in front to stay with their seventh inning explosion.  Diaz singled a run home and Wallace knocked in three runs with a bases-loaded single to give the Clippers a 6-4 lead.  Ray Olmedo capped the rally with a two-run homer.  Miller came home on an error in the eighth inning to cap the scoring.
 
Levale Speigner earned the win.  Jonathan Rouwenhorst took the loss.  Josh Anderson had two hits to extend his IL season best hitting streak to 25 games.  Miler had three hits for the Braves.
