PORTLAND, Ore. – Paul McAnulty clubbed a game-winning, three-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the 11th inning to propel the Portland Beavers to an 8-5 victory over the Tacoma Rainiers Wednesday night at PGE Park.Shawn Wooten started the winning rally with a single to right and moved to second when reliever Jon Huber hit Will Venable with a pitch with two outs. McAnulty sliced his 12th home run to left to help the Beavers improve to 12-4 in extra innings this season.
Brett Dowdy hit his eighth home run of the season and McAnulty drove in a total of four runs for the Beavers, who have won their last two games.

Joe Thatcher (5-1), the fifth pitcher used by Portland, worked an inning of scoreless relief for the victory. Huber (3-3), who entered in the 10th, suffered the loss.
Justin Huber and J.D. Closser scored on an error-filled play that involved two miscues by Tacoma, and Dowdy clubbed a two-run homer that lifted the Beavers (69-62) to a 4-0 lead in the second.
But the Rainiers (69-62) responded in their half of the sixth, getting a solo homer from Prentice Redman and RBI singles from Craig Wilson and Kevin Howard to get within a run.
An inning later, Victor Diaz, who had a game-hit three hits, tied the game with a run-scoring double and Wilson’s sac fly to center scored Shawn Garrett with the go-ahead run.
Venable, however, tripled with one out in the bottom of the seventh and scored one batter later as McAnulty lifted a ball to deep left.
The Beavers threatened with a leadoff double by Vincent Sinisi in the bottom of the eighth, but reliever Jorge Sosa helped the Rainiers out of it by coaxing a groundout, strikeout and pop out to keep things tied at 5-5.
