Bowie Baysox Whip Reading Phillies 8-1 in Eastern League Action

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com – Reading, PA -- The Bowie Baysox continued their winning ways Thursday night with an 8-1 whipping of the Phillies at FirstEnergy Stadium.

The Southern Division-leading Baysox (78-54) won for the eighth time in 10 games and the 18th time in 24 games.

Antonio Bastardo, making his third start for the Phillies since coming off the disabled list, allowed a run and two hits in 4.2 innings. He walked two and struck out two and was not involved in the decision.span class="full-image-float-right">

The Phillies scored in the fourth on Neil Sellers' RBI double.  The Baysox tied it in the fifth on Jon Tucker's RBI triple.  Four straight singles produced the go-ahead run in the sixth, followed by a two-run infield error that made it 4-1.

That was as close as it would get.

For the Phillies (49-82) the numbers tell the story: nine straight losses, a 2-18 record in August, a 12-4 final record against Bowie.

Zach Clark (3-1) went seven solid innings for the victory.  Travis Minix (2-6) got the loss.
