Charlotte Knights Defeat Norfolk Tides 9-5 - AAA, IL

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com –

FORT MILL, S.C.  – The Knights brought their bats to the ballpark, as they were 9-5 winners over the visiting Norfolk Tides.  The Knights overcame an early 4-0 deficit as they win their fourth game in the last five days.  The game was played in front of 11,137 fans, the second largest crowd of the season for the Knights.

First baseman Brad Eldred got the Knights on the board in the first inning with an RBI single.  He followed it up in the 3rd inning with a monstrous three-run homer to deep left field.  The home run was his league leading 35th of the season.  Eldred also now has 100 RBI’s on the year.  Eldred is the first Knight to reach the 100 RBI mark since Luis Raven in 1999.

Knights starter Wes Whisler earned the win to improve to 12-9 on the season.  Whisler allowed four runs in the first, but allowed only one in the following five.  With the win, Whisler is now third in the IL in wins.
