Charlotte Knights Double Up the Norfolk Tides in 2-1 Win

– August 24, 2008 – Charlotte’s bullpen came to the rescue
to help keep Norfolk at bay with a 2-1
win over the Tides. Five Knights pitchers combined to pitch 10 innings
as scheduled starter Lance Broadway was a late scratch. The bullpen
scattered four hits and struck out 12 as Franklin Germain (2-2, 3.94)
picked up the win for Charlotte.
Outfielder
Jason Bourgeois’ RBI single in the bottom of the 10th brought
home Jason Tyner to give the Knights their second straight win over
the Tides. Charlotte has won 5 out of its last 6 games.
