Kinston Indians Win Third Straight With 6-4 Victory Over Salem Avalanche

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com - MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Salem, VA The K-Tribe won their third straight game, downing Salem 6-4 Saturday night in Virginia. The K-Tribe improves to 24-17 in the second half and a season best eight games over five hundred at 59-51 overall.

Kinston ’s bats battered Salem, breaking loose for 14 hits. Five hitters in the K-Tribe lineup had multiple hits for the K-Tribe, Carlos Rivero went 3-for-4 and Cirilo Cumberbatch went 3-for-5 to lead the K-Tribe.

Kinston broke open the game with four runs in the fourth inning, batting around and unleashing five hits. Lucas Montero, Carlos Santana, Rivero and Romero each had RBIs for Kinston in the four run inning.

Kinston newcomer Kelvin De La Cruz picked up his second win as a K-Triber, giving up just one earned run and striking out six in five innings. Vinnie Pestano picked up his sixth save in six tries, closing things out in the ninth. Josh Tomlin pitched a perfect ninth for Kinston. Sergio Severino (0-3) took the loss for Salem.

Kinston will go for the four game sweep of Salem Sunday night at 6:07 pm. The K-Tribe will send Carlton Smith to the mound.
