Johnson City Cardinals Steak Eight Bases, Light Up Pulaski Mariners Bullpen in 13-7 Win
Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 12:02PM MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – PULASKI, Va.- The Johnson City Cardinals scored 12 runs off the Pulaski bullpen to rally past the Mariners 13-7 at Calfee Park Tuesday night. The Cardinals took advantage of three Mariner errors and eight stolen bases to earn the victory.
Pulaski
(28-19) jumped out to a 5-1 lead after three innings highlighted by a
two run home run by Juan Fuentes in the third and a two run single from
Gabriel Noriega in the second. Tommy Johnson added a solo home run for Pulaski in the sixth inning.
Johnson
City (25-22) took advantage of a three run error in the four run fifth
inning to take the lead for good before putting the game away with a
six run eighth. Luis Mateo had five hits for the
Cardinals, while Osvaldo Morales added two hits including a home run
two RBIs and four runs scored.

The two teams will continue their three game series on Wednesday night at the historic ballpark in Pulaski.
