Anthony Lerew Hurls Seven Solid Innings in Richmond Braves 2-1 Win Over Norfolk Tides

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Richmond , VA- The Richmond Braves beat the Norfolk Tides 2-1 Sunday at The Diamond. Anthony Lerew pitched seven strong innings for the Braves, fanning five and Jorge Julio notched his thirteenth save of the season, to lift the Braves over the Tides for the third straight game.

The Tides scored first on a Chris Heintz solo homerun in the third. The Braves rallied back in the seventh as Tides pitcher Bob McCrory threw a wild pitch which scored Barbaro Canizares then walked in Jason Phillips for the second run of the inning.

Lerew picked up a win. Gary Knotts took the loss. Julio notched a save.

The two clubs finish the series and regular season Monday, September 1st at 2pm. This will be the Braves final game at The Diamond. RHP Brian Lawrence is slated to pitch against TBA.
