Tacoma Rainiers Top Sacramento River Cats in 9-7 Shootout

 

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com -West Sacramento, Calif. – Chris Shelton and Mike Carp both had RBI hits in the top of the 11th inning to provide the winning margin as the Tacoma Rainiers topped the Sacramento River Cats 9-7 at Raley Field on Saturday night. Shelton doubled home Chris Burke, who reached on a Jack Hannahan throwing error. Carp followed with a double down the left-field line to score Steve Moss, who pinch ran for Shelton.

 

Tacoma broke the game open early with a six-run fourth inning to take a 6-1 lead. Sacramento rallied back with three runs in the fifth on a Jack Hannahan home run to right field. The River Cats had two in the seventh to tie the game. Each team scored single runs in the ninth.
