New Orleans Zephyrs Late Rally Falls Short in 5-3 Loss To Albuquerque Isotopes

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com -No-hit for five innings and shutout for eight innings the Zephyrs still pulled within two runs of the visiting Isotopes in the late stages, but it was Albuquerque that came away with a second straight win at Zephyr Field. The 5-3 Isotopes victory moved the Z’s home record to 0-6.

‘Topes starter Eric Milton looked stellar during his six innings of shutout work on the mound. Behind Milton, who earned the win, Nick Debarr allowed no hits or runs in two innings pitched.

Two homeruns were key to a four-run stretch over three innings midway through the game to give the Isotopes a 4-0 lead. Going into the bottom of the ninth the Zephyrs trailed 5-0 until they scrapped together three runs on one hit.

Zephyrs’ starter John Koronka is now 0-1 as he made just his second start of the season.

The Zephyrs and Isotopes play game three of the four-game series at Zephyr Field Monday night at 7:00 p.m.
