Notes: The Snappers hooked up with the Great Lakes Loons in the first game of a three game set Saturday afternoon at Pohlman Field.

The outcome wasn’t what the Snappers had envisioned as they dropped the game by a score of 18-6, but they did manage to make some noise on offense early in the game.

First baseman Jon Waltenbury and outfielder Ozzie Lewis collected their first home runs of the season to help the Snappers cut the Loons lead down to four in the third frame. Evan Bigley also contributed with a base hit and two RBI’s in the game.

Four runs was as close as the Snappers would get though as the Loons offense took over late in the game and scored eight unanswered runs.

Bruce Pugh made a stellar relief appearance in his fifth outing since being promoted to the Snappers. Pugh went 2 2/3 innings of work while striking out one batter.

The Snappers will look to turn things around in game two Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm at Pohlman Field. Bobby Lanigan will look to extend his scoreless streak of 10 2/3 innings for the Snappers as he takes the hill Sunday. Lanigan is also aiming for his third victory of the season. The Loons will counter with Ethan Miller.
