MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com -Clinton, IA – Left-hander Bobby LaFromboise kept the lefty-loaded lineup of the Peoria Chiefs off-balance all night long, striking out eight batters over a career-high eight innings as the Clinton LumberKings won, 5-0.
LaFromboise (W, 4-1) gave up just four hits and a walk over his eight innings, besting his previous career-high of seven innings. He enjoyed an early lead as the LumberKings came out swinging in the second inning. Mario Martinez and Ogui Diaz each delivered two-out singles off Peoria starter Aaron Shafer to build a 2-0 lead.

His fifth home run of the season effectively ended Shafer’s night at 2.1 innings. Shafer (L, 4-3) allowed four runs, two earned on three hits, walked three and struck out three.
Left-hander Jeffrey Beliveau took over for Shafer and got another out in the third before Steve Moss took him yard over the left-center wall. Moss’s third home run this season made it a 5-0 lead.
The Chiefs put together one last gasp in the ninth inning. Ryan Moorer allowed singles to David Macias and Drew Rundle and walked Kyler Burke to load the bases. Cheyne Hann (S, 2) came on with one out, striking out Nelson Perez and getting pinch-hitter Josh Vitters to ground into a game-ending fielder’s choice.
