MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com-Binghamton, N.Y. - Radhames Liz tossed 7.0 shutout innings as the Baysox won the rubber match of their three-game set with Binghamton, 2-0. Second baseman Miguel Abreu had an RBI double for the Baysox while center fielder Dave Krynzel collected three hits for the third time in his last four games.

Liz kept B-Mets hitters off balance all night, allowing only three hits while striking out six. After allowing a one-out double to Josh Thole in the first inning, Liz settled into a groove retiring the next 12 hitters he faced. The Baysox right-hander earned his second win in as many starts, lowering his ERA to 3.00 on the season.

The Baysox offense got on the board in the top of the fourth inning against Binghamton left-hander Eric Niesen. Shortstop Robert Valido singled to start the inning, advancing to second one batter later on a groundout by third baseman Mike Costanzo. Abreu followed with an RBI double to the opposite field in right, scoring Valido and putting the Baysox on top.

They would tally another run in the eighth inning off right-hander Edgar Ramirez. Catcher Guillermo Rodriguez tripled to right field to start the inning, his first three-base hit since August 16, 2006. Left fielder Jonathan Tucker followed with bouncer to third baseman Jonathan Malo, who threw the ball away allowing Rodriguez to score. Tucker attempted to advance to third on the error, but was thrown out by right fielder D.J. Wabick to prevent any further damage in the inning.

Right-hander Ryan Ouellette came on in the eighth inning in relief of Liz. Ouellette got Ruben Tejada to ground out for the first out of the inning, but allowed singles to Malo and Emmanuel Garcia to bring the go-ahead run to the plate. Manager Brad Komminsk went back to his bullpen for left-hander Wilfrido Perez to face Thole, the Eastern League’s top hitter. Perez got Thole to strike out swinging before inducing Ike Davis to ground out to end the threat.

Right-hander Josh Perrault came on for the ninth inning, one night after having his 18-game streak of not allowing an earned run snapped. The Baysox closer set down the B-Mets in order, earning his 13th save of the season. With the win, Bowie improves to 38-33 on the season, 10.0 games behind the Akron Aeros for the Southern Division lead.

The Baysox will travel to Altoona tomorrow to begin a five-game set with the Curve. RHP John Mariotti (2-5, 2.87) takes the ball for the Baysox looking for his third win of the season. He will be opposed by LHP Daniel Moskos (4-6, 4.01) for the Curve. Game time begins at 7:05 p.m at Blair County Ballpark in Altoona.
