Colorado Springs Sky Sox Record Scoreless Streak Comes to and End

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com- COLORADO SPRINGS, CO –When the Sacramento River Cats scored a run with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning last night, it brought to an end a Sky Sox franchise record ...COLORADO SPRINGS, CO –When the Sacramento River Cats scored a run with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning last night, it brought to an end a Sky Sox franchise record. Before the run was plated, the Colorado Springs Sky Sox pitching staff had not allowed a run in 28.2 consecutive innings. That stretch broke the previous franchise record by three innings. In 2000, the Sky Sox had 25.2 straight scoreless innings from August 4thto August 7th.

 

The record setting streak began on Tuesday, June 23rdwith the last out of the sixth inning in game one of the Sox’ four-game series with the River Cats, who came into the series with the best record in the Pacific Coast League. Three days later, the Sox had a new franchise record and three straight wins over Sacramento to win the series three games to one.
