New Orleans Zephyrs Edge Memphis Redbirds 3-2 - PCL

Memphis - After blowing the lead in the top of the ninth, the Zephyrs got their fourth walk-off victory of the season when John Lindsey doubled home Manny Mayorson to give the Z’s a 3-2 victory over Memphis Saturday night.

Lindsey, who was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI on the night, provided the Zephyrs with his third walk-off RBI of the season.

After being shut down for most of the night, the Zephyr offense came alive in the late innings.  Brett Hayes and Gookie Dawkins began the seventh inning for the Z’s with a pair of bunt singles.  Following a Dave Matranga groundout, Adam Ottavino hit Cameron Maybin with a pitch to load the bases. John Raynor and John Lindsey both drew walks to score the Z’s first two runs.

Willie Collazo pitched well for New Orleans, but did not factor in the decision.  Collazo went 7.0 shutout innings, striking out a season-high seven batters.  He left the game with a 2-0 lead, but the bullpen could not hold on.

Brett Sinkbeil gave up one unearned run in the eighth, and Nate Field allowed the game-tying home run by Brett Wallace with two outs in the top of the ninth.  It was Field’s fifth blown save of the season, and fourth in his last six chances.

The series will continue Sunday night with Hayden Penn (RHP) taking on Mitchell Boggs (RHP) with the first pitch scheduled for 6:00 pm.
