SAVANNAH, GA – Carlos Quentin made his two at-bats count on Monday night at Historic Grayson Stadium, as the rehabbing big leaguer helped Kannapolis to a 3-2 win.

Quentin was limited to the designated hitter spot because of wet weather, but showed off his All-Star bat on the very first pitch he saw. Quentin doubled up the third base line off of Eric Beaulac to score Justin Greene and give the Intimidators a first-inning lead.

Quentin, who is rehabbing an injured foot, finished the day 1-for-2 after lining out to leftfield in his second at-bat. He was replaced by Kenny Williams in the top of the sixth inning, but is expected to be back in the lineup tomorrow.

Kannapolis rallied for two more runs in support of Charlie Leesman (8-4) in the top of the fifth, as Eduardo Escobar and Drew Garcia managed RBIs.

Leesman made the run support count, limiting the Sand Gnats to two runs, one earned, in five innings of work. The southpaw also owed much to his bullpen, as three Kannapolis pitchers combined to keep Savannah off the board. Charlis Burdie, Tyson Corley and Dan Remenowsky did the job, with Remenowsky earning his 12^th save of the year.

Beaulac (5-5) took the loss despite going a season-high eight innings. The right-hander gave up all three runs on five hits and struck out seven. His performance came following an hour-long rain delay.

Kannapolis and Savannah continue their series on Tuesday, as former AL Cy Young winner Bartolo Colon will make a rehab start for the Intimidators.
