Ben Guez of West Michigan Whitecaps Named Midwest League Player of the Week

Guez has caught fire since the All-Star break, batting .373 with three home runs and 20 RBI. Overall, he is batting .261 this season with 7 home runs and 41 RBI in 62 games with the Whitecaps.
Guez is the sixth Whitecap to take the honor this season. Casey Crosby, Luke Putkonen, Bryan Pounds, Billy Nowlin and Ronnie Bourquin have also been named Player of the Week in 2009.
The Whitecaps take on the Kane County Cougars tonight at 7:00 p.m.
