Lexington Legends Slip Past Augusta GreenJackets, 2-1

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com -It wasn’t quite a rerun, but for the second straight night, the Lexington Legends took a 2-1 win over the Augusta GreenJackets.

After coming from behind to win 2-1 Wednesday night, the Legends scored first Thursday night. Jay Austin led off the game with a triple and scored on a one-out single by Steve Brown. Lexington added its second and final run in the second inning. Freddie Hernandez led off with an infield single, advanced to second on a one-out single by Ronnie Ramirez, and scored on a single by Jorge De Leon.

Starter Jordan Lyles pitched six innings for Lexington, allowing four hits while striking out five and walking two. Augusta scored its only run in the fourth when Josh Mazzola singled, went to second on Ramirez’ throwing error, and came home on a single by Ehire Adrianza.

Ashton Mowdy pitched the seventh and eighth innings for Lexington, and Patrick Urckfitz earned his 10th save of the year, and second in as many nights, with a scoreless ninth.

Lyles (5-7) was the winning pitcher. Augusta starter Eric Surkamp (5-3) was the loser.
The four-game series concludes with a 7:05 p.m. game Friday.
