Bases-Loaded Walk Leads to New Hampshire Fisher Cats 2-1 Win Over the Trenton Thunder

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com-Perez (6-6) gave up a run in the bottom of the third inning as the Thunder took a 1-0 lead. Reegie Corona (2-for-4, R) singled, Jose Molina walked and Jorge Vazquez hit a ground rule double to put Trenton (40-43) in front.

Thunder starter Kanekoa Texeira (6-5) set down the first 13 Fisher Cats before Nick Gorneault singled in the fifth inning. Brian Jeroloman reached on an error and Darin Mastroianni followed with an RBI single to tie the game at 1-1. Bryan Kervin singled to load the bases and Luis Sanchez walked to put New Hampshire up 2-1 and end the night for Texeira.

Both bullpens had good nights. Kevin Whelan and Josh Schmidt pitched 4.2 scoreless innings for the Thunder.

Leon Boyd worked two scoreless, hitless innings for New Hampshire and Danny Farquhar earned his fifth save with a perfect ninth inning.

The series against the Trenton Thunder continues on Wednesday night at Waterfront Park. New Hampshire sends right-hander Rey Gonzalez (4-5, 2.95) to the mound at 7:05pm. The Thunder counters with left-hander Wilkin De La Rosa (3-4, 4.13). Radio coverage begins at 6:45pm with the BayRing Pre-Game Show on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network with Bob Lipman.
