MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com-A five-run fourth inning helped the Iowa Cubs to a 7-4 win over the Oklahoma City RedHawks Saturday night at Principal Park.

Micah Hoffpauir drove in three runs in front of 9,774 fans to take hold of the RBI franchise record, with 282 runs batted in in his Iowa Cubs career.  Hoffpauir got Iowa on the board early with a run-scoring single in the first inning.

Oklahoma City tied the game at one in the top of the third inning when Brandon Boggs hit his eighth home run of the season.  However, the lead did not last long as the Cubs reclaimed a 2-1 lead in their half of the inning.  Brad Snyder walked and stole second base before scoring on Chris Robinson's single to right field.

Darwin Barney and Andres Blanco hit back-to-back singles and Matt Camp walked to load the bases with no outs in Iowa's fourth inning.  A sacrifice fly by John-Ford Griffin plated Iowa's first run in their five-run inning.  Hoffpauir then singled to score Blanco and Camp and claim the title as Iowa's franchise RBI leader.  The next batter, Brad Snyder, tripled off reliever A.J. Murray to put Iowa ahead 6-1. Hoffpauir scored the Cubs' seventh and final run of the inning on Matt Craig's sacrifice fly.

Mendoza (6-7) allowed six runs on eight hits in 3.1 innings and took the loss.  Iowa's Casey Fossum (6-4) pitched five solid innings, striking out nine batters while allowing one run on two hits.

A three-run eighth inning by the RedHawks cut Iowa's lead to 7-4 .  Justin Smoak led off with a single, Royce Huffman also singled and Max Ramirez hit an RBI single to trim the Cubs' lead 7-2.  Huffman then scored on Travis Metcalf's ground out and Ryan Freel drove in Ramirez for the third run of the inning.  WIth the bases loaded and two-outs Justin Berg struck out Estaban Herman to end the threat.

Blake Parker threw a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 20th save.  Hoffpauir, Blanco and Barney each posted a pair of hits in the victory.

Before the game the Iowa Cubs recognized J.R. Mathes as the 2009 Iowa Cub Pitcher of the Year and Chris Robinson as both the team's Most Valuable Player and also the Community Player of the Year.  Mathes is tied for the league-lead with 12 wins while Robinson has the best fielding percentage, .998, of all catchers in the PCL.

The Iowa Cubs and Oklahoma City RedHawks play the final game of a five-game series Sunday.  First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. at Principal Park.
