OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City RedHawks shutout the New Orleans Zephyrs 3-0 on Tuesday night at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.  Joaquin Arias singled twice, scored a run, and drove in a run to key the RedHawks in their second straight win and sixth consecutive victory over the Zephyrs.
            Elizardo Ramirez and John Koronka traded zeros over the first four innings.  Ramirez surrendered two hits over the first four frames and did not walk a batter, while Koronka allowed two doubles, a single, and walked a pair but managed to keep the RedHawks offense at bay over the first four.
            In the bottom of the fifth, Oklahoma City loaded the bases against Koronka, a RedHawk during the 2006 and 2007 seasons.  Arias and Greg Golson reached on back-to-back base hits and Royce Huffman walked to load the bases for Max Ramirez.  The RedHawks catcher lofted  a fly ball to right center, scoring Arias from third on a sacrifice fly for Ramirez’s 40th run batted in this season.
             Justin Leone doubled off the Zephyrs’ Jay Buente to leadoff the home half of the sixth inning and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Adam Fox.  Arias followed one out later with his second single in as many innings, driving in Leone from second to extend the Oklahoma City lead to 2-0.  The RedHawks added a run in the eighth when Golson drove in Kevin Thompson with a single to close out the scoring.
Ramirez (9-10) pitched six scoreless innings, striking out three and walking none while adding to his team-high winning tally.  Mike Hinckley pitched a scoreless seventh and Jailen Peguero walked five but still earned a two inning save to complete the shutout.  Koronka (4-10) took a loss in his sixth straight start despite allowing only one run over five innings on five hits.
Arias and Golson had two hits each for Oklahoma City, which won its second straight after losing the six prior to this current success streak.  Ramirez, Hinckley, and Peguero combined for the RedHawks eighth shutout of the season and first since Luis Mendoza’s no-hitter against Salt Lake on August 14.  Gookie Dawkins and Jai Miller had multi-hit games for the Zephyrs.  The win over New Orleans guaranteed Oklahoma City at least a split of the season series and was the RedHawks 100th all-time against the Zephyrs.
            Oklahoma City and New Orleans will play Wednesday evening at 7:05 pm at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.  Bryan Corey and Andrew Miller are the scheduled starters for the RedHawks and Zephyrs, respectively.
