Tacoma Rainiers of PCL Release 2010 Schedule
Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 09:33AM Tacoma, WA – The Tacoma Rainiers have released their 2010 season schedule, which includes a home opener against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, eight home games vs. Northwest rival the Portland Beavers, and an April 10th S.H.I.E.L.D. night, with single-game ticket proceeds benefitting the Lakewood Police Independent Guild.
The Rainiers will begin their season at home with a four-game series that starts April 8th against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. The home schedule includes 36 weekend dates and 11 Tasty Thursday/Dollar Deal dates. 43 of the team’s 72 home games will be played in June, July, August and early September, offering more dates at Cheney Stadium that coincide with summer weather and school being out.
Standard home game times will once again be 7:00 pm (Monday through Saturday) and 1:30 pm on Sundays.
2010 will see the last season of baseball played in historic Cheney Stadium as-is, with the stadium scheduled to receive some long-awaited renovations. Construction is set to begin during this season but will work around the baseball schedule. Stadium is slotted to be fully renovated by opening day of 2011.
