Spokane Chiefs to Hold Annual Red-White Scrimmage to Signal End of Fall Camp

Spokane Chiefs annual Red-White Scrimmage will take place Sunday
afternoon at 1:00 PM in the Spokane Arena. The scrimmage is free and
open to the public. Spectators are asked to enter the Arena through the
Chiefs office on the southeast corner of the Arena.
The
Red-White game signifies the end of the Fall Camp and kicks off the
start of a seven game pre- season schedule. Spokane will travel next
Friday to Everett to take on the Silvertips in the first of three games
in as many nights. The Chiefs will finish their pre-season with a
home-and-home against Kelowna, including a date against the Rockets on
Friday, September 12th at Eagles Ice-A-Rena at 7:00.
The
Chiefs will play the first game in the WHL season when they travel to
Cranbrook to take on the Kootenay Ice on Thursday, September 18th. The
game will pit the first ever Ed Chynoweth trophy winners against the
team the trophies namesake founded. Chynoweth was the former president
of the WHL and instrumental in making the league what it is today.
Chynoweth passed away earlier this year.

On Saturday,
September 27th the Chiefs will drop three banners from the rafters; the
Western Conference Championship, WHL Championship and Memorial Cup
banners when they host the Tri-City Americans during the home opener.
In addition to Bud Light Opening Night, the Chiefs and The Black Book
by Hagadone Directories will be handing out replica banners to the
first 3,000 fans through the gates as well as full season ticket
holders.
