Kelowna Rockets Slip Past the Kamloops Blazers, 5-4 in WHL Action

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – Despite putting forth an exemplary road performance, the Blazers wound up on the wrong end of a 5-4 final in Kelowna on Saturday night.  After falling behind 3-0 in the second period, the Rockets got one goal back then counted three in a row on a five-minute major powerplay for a 4-3 lead after two.  Each team scored once in the third to close out the scoring.  Jimmy Bubnick scored twice and added one assist, Brendan Ranford scored his first WHL goal and added a helper, and Dalibor Bortnak chipped in with two assists.  Shayne Wiebe added his 6th goal of the year while Giffen Nyren added a pair of assists.  The Blazers were 1-for-3 on the powerplay while Kelowna was 3-for-6, nonetheless the Blazers outshot the Rockets 28-25.  Justin Leclerc took the loss while Kris Lazaruk perserved the win.
