MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com -Oilers Battle Conference Leaders

(2-1-0, 4 Points 4^th place North Conference)

Battle At Top: The Tulsa Oilers take on the two leading teams in the Central Hockey League’s Northern Conference this week. The Oilers host the Rapid City Rush Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. at the BOK Center. On Friday they visit the Mississippi RiverKings at 7:05 p.m. Both games can be heard at www.tulsaoilers.com <http://www.tulsaoilers.com>, www.edgetulsa.com/oilers/ and available for pay per view online viewing at CHL TV.

Great Opener: After a 5-1 loss at Wichita on Friday, the Oilers had their home opener Saturday and scored a goal in each period to defeat Wichita 3-1. It was the first home game under coach Bruce Ramsay.

Great Crowd: The home opening attendance of 9,040 for the Oilers is the largest crowd of the season in the CHL so far. It was also the third largest hockey crowd in the history of the BOK Center.

3 For 3: Three Oiler players have at least one point in all three games this season. Dallas Steward (2 G, 2A, 4 Pts), Marty Standish (1-2-3) and Derek Eastman (1-2-3) all have three game scoring streaks.

First Goal: Eastman scored the Oilers first home goal of the season, giving the Oilers a 1-0 lead in the first period Saturday night. It was the first game the Oilers had scored first.

Special Stuff: While the Oilers are still in search of their first power play goal of the season, they have scored two shorthanded goals in their first three games.

Commissioner Bud Selig shaved drug suspensions of players and broke the rules of MLB. Will Manny Ramirez and three others do a year? What will happen to dozens of minor league players whose records, teams, and leagues are affected? Read the whole story at SZ ( www.mlnsports.com).
