Odessa Jackalopes Have Eight-Game Winning Streak Snapped in 7-3 Loss To Texas Brahmas

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com -(Odessa, TX) – The Odessa Jackalopes saw their win streak come to an end at eight games after a 7-3 loss to the Texas Brahmas at the Ector County Coliseum on Thursday night.  It was Odessa's first regulation loss since October 17th.

The scoring began on Jason Detich's first period goal at 5:27 for the Brahmas.  A wrist shot from the left circle deflected into the air and off the body of Deitch for his second goal of the season.  James Hiebert made it 2-0 after his redirection effort bounced into the air and past Toivonen at 16:22.  Texas had the two-goal lead after the first.

The second period was highlighted with a flurry of goals -- five total.  Texas took a three-goal lead on Jordan Cameron's goal at 2:21.  The Jackalopes answered back with a pair of power play goals.  Alex Dunn slapped a shot from the point through traffic and in the net to make it a 3-1 score.  Minutes later, Kory Karlander wristed one home on the power play to cut the deficit to one for Odessa.  In the closing minutes of the period, a pair of Odessa turnovers led to Brahmas goals as Cameron and Matt Burto each scored to make it 5-2, Texas, entering the break.

The loss drops Odessa's record 11-2-1 on the year.   Texas was 1-for-10 on the power play while the Jackalopes were 3-for-4.
