Bakersfield Condors Knock Off Alaska Aces 6-2 - ECHL

Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors (10-6-0-0, 20pts) put on a dominating performance in front of 4,796 fans at Rabobank Arena on Friday night, knocking off the Alaska Aces (8-5-2-0, 18pts) 6-2. The Condors won their fourth consecutive game on home ice and maintained their spot atop the Pacific Division. RW Dan Sexton exploded for four assists, D Sasha Pokulok recorded two goals, while D Eric Regan provided a goal and two assists for the Condors, who out-shot the Aces 40-18 in the game.

The first period featured plenty of goals, hits, penalties and big saves. The Aces took leads of 1-0 and 2-1 on tallies by F Jason Ryznar and RW Colin Hemingway (on the power play), Pokulok tied the game up twice for the Condors. He sniped a wrister under the crossbar on a feed from Sexton at 10:55, and then rifled home his 8th of the season at 19:15 on the power play to knot it up at 2-2.

Bakersfield took their first lead of the night on an early second period power play. Regan snapped home his fifth of the season at 1:14 to make it 3-2. Then at 7:59 LW Mathieu Aubin lifted home a rebound from the top of the crease for his second tally in as many games to make it 4-2. Bakersfield held a 30-13 shot lead through 40 minutes of play.

The Condors put another two up on the board in the third, while G Justin Pogge and the defense shut the door. LW Shawn Weller nailed home his fifth of the season off a spin-around blind feed from Sexton, who notched his fourth assist on the night with the play. RW Stephane Goulet added a fourth power play goal for Bakersfield with less than three minutes remaining.

Pogge picked up the win stopping 16 shots. The Condors converted on 4 of 7 power plays, while Alaska went 1 for 6 on the man-advantage.
