Lowell Devils Blanked By Bridgeport Sound Tigers, 3-0

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com -BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Despite 39 shots in on net, the Lowell Devils could not solve goaltender Scott Munroe in a 3-0 loss to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Friday at the Arena at Harbor Yard.   The shutout was the first allowed by the Devils this season.

Bridgeport took a 1-0 lead at 2:14 of the first when Jeff Frazee stopped Tyler Haskins’s shot from the near circle, but left the rebound in the slot for James Sexsmith to bang home.

Matt Martin furthered the Sound Tigers’ lead at 9:47 of the middle frame when skated into a scrum in front of the Devils’ net and flipped a loose puck across the goal line.

Lowell outshot Bridgeport 18-5 in the third period in trying to rally from behind, but Sean Bentivoglio put the game out of reach when his stuff attempt found its way through the leg pads of Frazee with 3:33 remaining. The Devils goalie finished with 21 saves on the night.

The Lowell Devils return home to face the Portland Pirates on Saturday, November 28 at 7:00PM.  Go to AHLlive.com to listen or watch the live streaming broadcast.  For more information, contact the Devils at (978) 458-PUCK (7825) or visit lowelldevilshockey.com.
