Alaska Aces Rip Utah Grizzlies 6-2 - ECHL

West Valley City, Utah  – The Alaska Aces defeated the Utah Grizzlies (12-6) 6-2 Saturday night at the E-Center.
Alaska jumped up 1-0 1:04 into the game and never looked back as they took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission.

The Aces made it 3-0 47 seconds into the second period before Utah attempted to rally.

Tom May fired a lose puck home on the power-play 3:02 into the second period to make it a 3-1 contest, but that would be as close as the Grizzlies would get as Alaska tallied three more in the period and 6-1 was the score at the second intermission. The goal for May was his fifth in the last six games.

In the third, the Grizzlies got a goal from Mark Pavli as he knocked home a rebound on a Jason Dale shot to make it 6-2 and that would be the final.

Parker Van Buskirk played the first and third periods stopping 10 of 13 shots. Mitch O’Keefe played the final 19:13 of the second period and halted four of seven Alaska attempts.

Captain Ryan Kinasewich tallied nine shots on goal in his return to the Utah lineup.

The Grizzlies continue their ten-game home stand next Wednesday and Friday against Ontario and Saturday with the Idaho Steelheads. Face-off all three nights is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
