Stefano Giliati of Reading Royals Named ECHL Player of the Week

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com -PRINCETON, N.J. ˆ Stefano Giliati of the Reading Royals is the Sher-wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Oct. 26-Nov. 1.

The 22 year old had two goals and six points to help the Royals go 3-0-0 to improve to 4-2-2 and move into second place in the East Division.

The 5-foot-11 and 200-pound left wing had three points (1g-2a) in 4-3 wins against Toledo on Oct. 29 and Johnstown on Oct. 31. ADVERTISEMENT

Giliati had a league season-high six-game goal streak (6g) and a six-game point streak (6g-8a) from Oct. 17-31. He is tied for the league lead with 14 points and is tied for third with six goals.

He played in the American Hockey League as a rookie in 2008-09 and had 15 points (6g-9a) in 53 games for the Toronto Marlies.

On behalf of Stefano Giliati, a case of pucks will be donated to a Reading youth hockey organization by Sher-wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-wood Hockey has donated more than 22,700 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.

Runners Up: Chanse Fitzpatrick, Elmira (2 gp, 3g, 1a, 4 pts), Mark Derlago, Idaho (3 gp, 3g, 1a, 4 pts) and Chris D'Alvise, Stockton (2 gp, 3g, 2a, 5 pts).

Also Nominated: Tyson Marsh (Alaska), MacGregor Sharp (Bakersfield), Matt Pierce (Cincinnati), Ernie Hartlieb (Florida), Drew Paris (Gwinnett), Trent Daavettila (Kalamazoo), Jon Rheault (Ontario), Nikita Kashirsky (South Carolina) and Maxime Tanguay (Toledo).
