Alex Dunn Nets Winner In Overtime For Odessa Jackalopes In 3-2 Victory Over Allen Americans

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com -(Allen, TX) – Alex Dunn's slap shot between the top of the circles gave the Odessa Jackalopes a 3-2 comeback win, in overtime, over the Allen Americans on Friday night at the Allen Events Center.  The win extends Odessa's first-place lead over the Americans in the Southern Conference to six points.   Brian Swiniarski fed Dunn at the point after forcing a turnover in the Allen zone.  Dunn's slap shot beat Chris Whitley at 3:53 of the sudden death period to give the Jacks their second overtime win of the season.    In a tightly played first period, Odessa's Jeff Pierce scored the only goal at 13:58 on a turnover in front of the net to give Odessa a 1-0 lead.  It was Pierce's 13th goal of the season.    Bruce Graham tied the game for the Americans at 1-1 in the second period at 3:59 on a bad angle shot to the left of the net.  Justin Bowers added the assist on a feed from behind the net.  It was the only goal of the period leaving both teams tied at the break.   The two teams traded goals in the third period as Tyler Wooddisse netted a power play goal at 7:30 for the Americans.  Mike Ramsay tied the game with 49 seconds left in the third on a bad angle shot from the left side forcing overtime at 2-2.   Juha Toivonen picked up the win making 24 saves.  It was his ninth win of the season.
