Amarillo Gorillas Score Early on the Laredo Bucks in 6-3 Victory

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com-Amarillo, TX 12/19/09 – The Amarillo Gorillas came out flying and earned the 6-3 victory Saturday night versus the Laredo Bucks.

Amarillo struck first after a scintillating opening period. Forward Jake Morissette created a turnover inside the Laredo zone, where from the far wall, Morissette tossed his pass to the near side of the goal for a streaking Stuart MacRae. MacRae banked home his shot to give Amarillo the 1-0 lead after one.

The floodgates opened in the middle period, as both teams combined to score a total of 7 goals. The Gorillas earned goals from four different skaters; David Nimmo (2 goals), defensemen Erik Felde (first CHL goal of his career), Jake Obermeyer, and Anthony Battaglia. The Gorillas matched their season-high in shots on goal in a period with 17, and ended the frame up 6-2.
